FAQ's Blemiderm Acne Treatment

How Does The Treatment Work?

Blemiderm is a comprehensive method for treating different levels of severity of acne, by reducing the appearance of blemishes, intensively correcting them, and improving the quality of the skin, reducing shine and refining its texture.

A result of the latest advances in acne research, mesoestetic has developed blemiderm. A new generation of solutions for addressing blemishes caused by acne, acting comprehensively on the different pathways that promote acne appearance.

What Are the Two Stages of Treatment?

Stage 1 Professional in clinic treatment x3:
The Blemiderm in clinic protocol includes a pre-peel exfoliation and the application of an anti-blemish chemical peel mask. The formula of the Blemiderm in clinic professional products includes AHA, BHA, retinal, and bakuchiol, which stimulate intense skin rejuvenation, unclog and purify the pores, reduce hyperkeratosis and excess sebum, and remove blemishes. The regulating action of blemisome complex, reduces the triggers present in acne-prone skin, leading to reduced outbreaks and clearer skin. Additionally, the protocol also contains kaolin and sulphur that have smoothing and antibacterial actions.

Stage 2 Products for continued home treatment:

Inlcuded in the blemiderm protocol are 2 essential home care products to help maintain your results from the first in clinic treatment.
– purifying mousse: A balancing and anti-pollution facial cleansing foam. Made with chlorhexidine, salicylic acid and lactic acid, it has rejuvenating and purifying actions to reduce acne outbreaks.
– blemiderm® treatment: An anti-blemish gel-cream. Its formula, containing 10% azelaic acid and liposomal retinol, stimulates skin rejuvenation and regulates sebum production. It also includes the blemiclear complex, designed to regulate the cellular mechanisms that cause blemishes.

Areas For Treatment

This treatment is perfect for face acne. Acne being experienced on the body may be more suitable for our acne chemical peels.

Will This Solve My Acne Forever?

Blemishes are significantly reduced, and the quality of the skin improves notably.

Acne is a chronic condition triggered mainly by a hyperactivation of hormonal pathways. Using an at-home blemiderm routine for at least 3 months and repeating the professional protocol as required will help to keep the blemishes under control.

Do I Need A Test Patch

You do not need a test patch for Blemiderm treatment.

Who Can Have This Treatment?

This treatment has a few conditions under which it cannot be performed:

If you have active cancer (skin or otherwise).

If you suffer from keloid scarring.

If you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Number of Sessions

Blemiderm is performed in the clinic 3 times, every 15 days.

Your home care should start 24-48 hours following your first in-clinic treatment. The home care should be continued for the next three months.

When Will I See Results?

The results start to be noticeable after the first session in the clinic. After 15 days, a reduction in redness and in the number of active blemishes is noted.

Is There Any Pain?

During the professional session, the application of the chemical peel mask may cause a sensation of itching and stinging – this is an expected effect. The sensation is very tolerable and can be eased with the use of a fan.

Do I Need To Prepare For Treatment?

The Active Acne skincare kit must be used to prepare your skin for treatment. More information can be found regarding the skincare kit here. This will be discussed in more detail at your consultation.

You must use SPF before and after treatment.

Can Blemiderm Be Combined With Other Acne Medication?

Yes. The Blemiderm method can be used together with other oral and topical treatments such as antibiotics and hormonal therapies. However, the combination with topical or oral retinoids is not recommended as these treatments make the skin very sensitive, which could lead to an over-reaction to the blemiderm method.

Are There Any Side Effects?

There may be some transient redness immediately after the treatment which usually subsides within the hour. You may experience dryness or flaking of the skin post-treatment.
