Excessive Hair Growth

Excess hair can have a profound impact on mental health.

Excessive Hair Growth In Women

Research, and common sense, tells us that excessive hair growth in women causes profound psychological distress.

Seeing your GP if your hair growth is becoming a problem for you is a good idea; they will check what is causing the hair growth. This may be in the form of a blood test to check your hormone levels, as a common cause of excessive hair growth in women is polycystic ovary syndrome.

Many women with excessive hair growth seek permanent hair removal methods, such as laser hair removal and electrolysis.

It is also common for women to want permanent hair reduction if they dislike using temporary methods of hair removal, experience irritation from regular removal of hair, or have dark hair follicles that show through the skin.

For clients who are taking hormones, or transitioning from male to female, laser hair removal generally has a profound positive effect on confidence.

Problem Hair For Men

It is becoming more popular, and acceptable, for men to have laser treatments as a permanent method of hair removal.

The most common areas treated are back, chest and beard.

Men may wish to have laser hair removal because they are uncomfortable with excess hair, are searching for a more permanent method of manscaping, or suffer from skin irritation around their hair follicles.

Laser Hair Removal

At Oasis Wellbeing Clinic we use the powerful but gentle Thunder MT Medical LASER.

It provides consistently effective results for any treatment area, gender and skin colour.

The Thunder targets the melanin in the hair and the blood supply, through the perfect synergy of the two wavelengths (755nm & 1064nm). This ensures hairs are killed at the root.

The treatments delivered by the Thunder are the best you will experience; it is a state of the art LASER medical device.

Electrolysis Hair Removal

In addition to our Laser hair removal services, we also have electrolysis available. This can be a great option for people who are unlikely to achieve results with Laser, due to a lack of pigmentation in the hair follicle.

Electrolysis is a slower and more uncomfortable treatment, however it is unparalleled at treating all hair types, especially: white, blonde, gray and red hair.

We use the Silhouette Epil 200, which combines short wave diathermy and galvanic currents to provide excellent treatments for all skin and hair types.
