Laser Hair Removal Treatments
Treatment Information
Laser hair removal is a method to remove unwanted hair by using very advanced and safe LASER technology.
Laser hair removal uses light to target and destroy hair follicles and cut off the blood supply, permanently killing hair follicles, leaving the surrounding skin intact, and leaving you hair free!
At Oasis Wellbeing Clinic we use the THUNDER MT medical laser and our treatments are the fastest and most effective currently available.

FAQ's Laser Hair Removal
How Does The Treatment Work?
Laser hair removal is the permanent removal of hair using medical LASER technology.
Melanin in the hair absorbs the laser light, which causes irreparable thermal damage to the cells responsible for hair growth.
Hairs need to be in the growing stage to be effectively destroyed, meaning your treatment sessions are organised to match your hair cycle. For most clients treatments are performed every 3-8 weeks.
Hair Colour and Skin Type
Through the perfect synergy of the two wavelengths (755nm & 1064nm), the Thunder targets the blood supply to the hair, therefore the process no longer relies solely on hair colour, providing reliable and effective hair removal regardless of hair colour
Traditionally, lighter hair colours were difficult to treat, but not any more! The Thunder is delivering unprecedented results for white, blonde, red and grey hair. However, we still have some reduction in efficiency, compared to electrolysis treatments.
If all of your hair is white, grey, blonde or red, you may find electrolysis to be a more effective treatment. More information here: Electrolysis at Oasis.
The Thunder is also perfectly safe for all skin types.
Areas For Treatment
This treatment is perfect for almost all areas of the face and body.
Unfortunately, we are unable to treat inside the nose or ear cartilage.
Do I Need A Test Patch

This treatment is suitable for all skin types.

- who have metal in the treatment area

Tattoos in the treatment area must be covered, as the laser must not be applied to tattooed skin.
Number of Sessions
How many sessions do I need?
This is the most commonly asked question, and unfortunately, it is the hardest question to answer.
The number of treatment sessions depends on how many hair cycles you have, which is a mystery.
We will assess your hair growth in your consultation to give you a rough idea of the number of sessions to expect.
Hormonally driven hair requires more sessions.
On average clients need between 4 and 12 sessions.
When Will I See Results?
Following a session, the lasered hair will fall out within 1 to 2 weeks, leaving your treatment area very sparse until your next hair cycle.
Most people notice a reduction in the overall hair after session 2.
How Long Do The Results Last?
The hairs destroyed in each session are permanently removed.
However, we recommend a yearly top-up to remove hairs that were dormant during your initial treatments.
Is There Any Pain?
You might perceive a slight and transient discomfort, similar to a warm tingling.
Do I Need To Prepare For Treatment?
To avoid unwanted side effects it is important that you do not have any of the following prior to treatment:
- an active tan, or a fake tan on the treatment area
- recent waxing, plucking, threading, or epilation (any hair removal method that removes the hairs from the follicles)
- recent use of strong AHA’s, BHA’s, acids, or retinol
We do advise you, however, to:
- shave or trim the hair prior to treatment
- attend with clean and dry skin
- use SPF on the treatment area
Are There Any Side Effects?
There may be some transient redness immediately after the treatment which usually subsides within the hour.
