Microneedling Test

Microneedling at Oasis is performed with SkinPen Precision, a medical device, which treats aging skin, scars, and imperfections in the skin.

As the skin ages the natural architecture of our skin deteriorates, this deterioration leads to fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, and an uneven skin texture. 

SkinPen comfortably creates thousands of micro-injuries in the skin to trigger the body’s natural wound healing process. This process results in skin remodeling, including the formation of collagen and elastin, the two proteins predominantly responsible for the healthy structure of the skin.

Microneedling is safe for all skin types.

Microneedling is an effective treatment for all areas of the body and face. Most treatments are performed on the face, neck, décolletage, and areas on the body prone to scarring and stretch marks.

A test patch is required if you would like to use a numbing agent.

Unfortunately, treatment is NOT suitable for clients

• have an active acne breakout
• have any active bacterial, viral or fungal infections or disease
• are prone to keloid scarring
• have chronic skin conditions (eczema and psoriais)
• have a blood disorder or haemophillia
• are on anticoagulant therapy
• have collagen vascular disease (lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis)
• have cancer, or are undertaking chemotherapy or radiotherapy
• have an allergy to metal/stainless steel or aneasthetics
• are imunosupressed

• with cancer
• who suffer from keloid scarring
• who have pacemakers or electrical implants
• who are pregnant or breastfeeding
• under 18 years old

Clients with the following conditions require a Doctors letter prior to treatment:

• Epilepsy,
• Porphyria,
• Psoriasis,
• Micro pigment eczema,
• Dermatitis,
• Hypopigmentation,
• Haemophilia/bleeding disorder,
• Hepatitis,
• Current skin infection

Typically 3-6 procedures are recommended for optimal results.

Procedures are performed every 4 weeks.

The skin will begin to rejuvenate from the first session, however, the final results cannot be viewed immediately because new collagen continues to be laid down for approx. 3-6 months after treatment has ceased.

The results gained from micorneedling are permanent, however, your skin is still subject to usual ageing deterioration.

We recommend twice yearly top-ups to prolong your results

When performing facial anti-aging treatments the skin may feel warm post-treatment, similar to a sunburn.

Scar/stretch mark treatments require a numbing agent.

To avoid unwanted side effects it is important that you do not have any of the following 2 weeks prior to treatment:

• an active sunburn
• other aesthetic treatments
• recent use of strong AHA’s, BHA’s, acids, or retinol

We do advise you, however, to:

• use SPF on the treatment area

Slight erythema and edema lasting 2-3 days.
