Treatment Information

Scars and stretch marks can cause upset and frustration.

Medical tattooing is the process of depositing skin-coloured pigments into the epidermal layer of the skin of scars and stretch marks.

The chosen pigment will replicate your natural skin tone, to camouflage the scar or stretch mark underneath a uniform skin colour, thus improving the aesthetic appearance of the damaged skin.

FAQ's Medical Tattooing

How Does The Treatment Work?

Medical tattooing is a permanent form of scar and stretch mark camouflage. Skin coloured pigments are implanted into the skin with a cosmetic tattoo pen.

Effective camouflage of scars and stretchmarks are achieved by blending pigments to accurately match your skin tone, and medically tattooing the pigment into the scar tissue.

Suitable Scars and Stretch Marks

Common types of treated scars are stretch marks, surgical scars and self harm scars. Some scars can carry uncomfortable memories or cause embarrassment. Medical tattooing is a safe and effective way of reducing the appearance of scars that lack pigment.

Scars must be 12 months old before they can be tattooed.

White, silver and purple stretch marks can be treated with medical tattooing.

Pink, red or raised scars and stretch marks must be treated with microneedling before medical tattooing can commence for optimal results.

Unfortunately keloid scarring cannot be treated with medical tattooing.
